Ear Infections
Ear Infections
What to do when your child has an ear infection
The First Steps Program of Kent County is a Non-Profit Organization that focuses on providing information to parents of young children. A large group of local pediatricians wanted to produce an informational video for parents describing what they could do if they thought their child had an ear infection. The idea was for doctor’s offices to play the video in their waiting rooms.
Fresh Look Video & Multimedia, LLC collaborated with the First Steps Program and the pediatricians to write and edit the script for this project. We decided early on that having a narrator to provide the information would be best for this project.
It was important to show a variety of children throughout the video that would represent the diversity of Kent County. Knowing it might be difficult to get the children to cooperate for long periods of time, we split the script into sections and tried to focus on certain pieces of the script with each child.
Shooting took place at several locations including Forest Hills Pediatrics, Spectrum Health, and inside several homes over the course of two days. Casey Stormes ran camera and edited the video including creating the graphics. Rob Byrd served as lighting director and assistant producer on the shoot. All video was shot in full 1920 x 1080 High Definition using the Sony PMW-Ex1 camera.
About a month after the video was completed, several doctors asked for a Spanish version of the video. Fresh Look Video hired Jorge Garcia of PAE to translate the script into Spanish and provide the narration in Spanish.
The narrator of the English version is Trish Stevens from “Voice-Overs by Trish”.
