The above video has been shortened from its original length of 15 minutes to about 6 minutes for online viewing.

Skytron has been one of the leading manufacturers and distributors of high-end surgical tables and accessories for over 25 years. In the fall of 2008, Skytron teamed up with Fresh Look Video & Multimedia, LLC to produce a series of informational product videos. The first video in the series focused on Skytron’s 6700 Series Surgical Table.

For this project, Skytron’s marketing department wrote the script based on the operator manual for the table. Fresh Look Video then edited the provided script to help it flow better for a video production. Once the script was finalized, we scheduled 2 shooting days.

The rest of the video was done with the help of two Skytron employees who acted out the part of hospital personnel. We were able to shoot in 1 1/2 days instead of the predicted 2 days which allowed the video to come in under budget.

The narrator of the script is Mark Winston out of Florida. We were able to email him a copy of the script and he sent us back an Mp3 audio file to use in the video.

Fellow producer/director Duane Weed teamed up with Casey Stormes to help with the on-location shooting. Skytron allowed us access into their training facility for the shoot. The first images you see are actually the last images we shot of the table. For these “beauty shots” we brought in our “8 foot camera crane”, as well as a “steady-cam” to help get smooth moving shots around the table. These shots were shot at 60 frames per second (slow motion) to achieve the look we wanted using our Sony PMW Ex1 HD camera.
